About Clema
Clema is a San Francisco company that builds battery-powered active cooling vests for industrial crews working in extreme heat. Our product, ClemaCore, is a sub-3-lb solid-state cooling vest worn under PPE that runs 8 to 12 hours with one battery swap, instead of fading after an hour.
Industrial cooling has been broken for decades. Ice melts in 90 minutes. Evaporative gear fails in humidity. Cooling tents don't move with the crew. We're solving it with solid-state cooling that runs the full shift.
The story
We met where industrial heat became a daily emergency: refinery turnarounds in Houston, construction in Phoenix, warehouses in Memphis. Crews were burning out, literally and operationally. The cooling tools on the market were built for athletes, marathoners, or short medical use, not 8-12 hour shifts under PPE.
So we built Clema: a sub-3-lb solid-state cooling vest that fits under hi-vis, works with a fall-arrest harness, runs 8-12 hours with one battery swap, and works in any humidity. No ice. No water. No logistics tail.
